In this brand new purpose built studio space students will learn the art of carving and shaping wax to create a unique ring of their own.

These workshops are private classes run by artisan jeweller & maker, Anthony O’Connor.  

1-3 students per class, to ensure small and productive sessions.

You can also request one-on-one tutelage, for undivided attention to your jewellery project.

No previous experience is necessary.

COURSE DETAILS:

• Special Offer:  $190 incl. GST (normally $260)
• Each course runs over 2 sessions (minimum 1 week apart to allow for metal casting)
• The 1st session is 4 hours in duration (design & wax carving)
• The 2nd session is 2 hours in duration (polishing & finishing)
• You choose the day and time for each session, to suit your schedule 

In the first 4-hour session, students will have the opportunity to experiment with different types of wax, and carve one or two wax rings that will be cast by a commercial caster.

In the following 2-hour session, students will refine their piece with final polishing and finishing techniques.

After this workshop you will be equipped with the skills to continue wax casting from home. It doesn’t require expensive tools and you can also carve brooches, earrings and pendants. 

Written notes will be provided for your own pursuits and making, including instructions, suppliers list and tools list.  

The casting fee is an additional cost and will depend on the weight of your piece, and whether you want it cast in sterling silver, brass or bronze (average cost $40-$60).

Have you and your partner/friend talked about trying something new together and learning a new skill?

You can take part in small classes of 2-3, or one-on-one if you prefer, giving all students extra attention.  

Have you had lessons before, but don't have the facilities or equipment to make at home?

Flexible sessions are not a problem. If you already have a level of experience and just need access to tools and perhaps some technical guidance, contact Anthony to discuss your project and requirements.
